Thoughts Going Into 2016

Well I figured I either needed to post something on here, or shut it down, so I’m posting something. 2015 was a crazy year, a good year, a busy year, and one where I think I grew some personally and professionally. My goal is to make 2016 even better and to set some realistic goals for myself.

Here’s what I’ve been up to:

1) Consulting for companies and other affiliates

This forces me to step up my game. Instead of just doing what I have to do for my sites, by working for other people it forces me to bring my A-Game.

2) Interviewing smart and interesting people

If I’m not learning something new, I feel that I’m just spinning my wheels sometimes. Doing interviews and videos has forced me to work at a new skill and while I have a long ways to go, they are slowly getting better. I’ve honestly been shocked that the videos have been getting between 3000-6000 views, which is amazing and motivates me to make them better.

I was doing some videos for PAS.Net/PAL but that contract ended at the start of the year, but I’m still going to do them regardless.

3) The 3 Month Website Challenge

This is mostly a personal challenge much like Pat Flynn’s Niche Site Duel. The basic idea is that I want to see how fast I can build a website and generate revenue, using only content and social media. No ad buying, link buying, etc. all organic. I am 14 days in and the site is getting a little traffic, and my goal is to get a signup by the 30 day mark. Hopefully, I can generate some revenue by the 60 day mark, and I’m giving myself a 90 day goal total.

4) What to do with some websites and content?

One thing I’ve been trying to think through is what to do with some of my older sites which have great content, decent traffic, but I have no time to fully update them. One of my sites is Marketing, and it has some interesting content, and most importantly it has about 40 pages which are a basic Start to finish guide on how to start an online business and/or website.

It takes users from buying a domain and hosting, to setting up wordpress and beyond. It’s great content, easy to follow, etc. But at the end of the day I think the content is being wasted in it’s current form. Should I turn it into a series of video tutorials? An E-book?

Also, should I move it to another site? Which has interviews and “How to Videos” for Affiliates? I really don’t know what to do with the content?

Anyway, that’s what’s on my mind. I have to get to work now and so should you 🙂
